Hey ya’ll, I made the most delicious apple pie last night and I just had to share the recipe with you! This recipe is so easy, even a beginner baker like me was able to pull it off.
60-Minute Apple Pie Recipe by Tasty
First up, you’ll need to gather these ingredients:
- 2 pre-made pie crusts (take out of the fridge and let sit at room temperature for 15 minutes)
- 6 cups thinly sliced and peeled apples (we used Granny Smith apples, but any tart apple will do)
- ¾ cup white sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, cubed
- 1 large egg, beaten
Now for the instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400F (or 200C)
- In a large bowl, mix together the apple slices, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Spoon the mixture into one of the pie crusts, and dot with the cubed butter.
- Cut the second pie crust into strips and weave over the top of the apple mixture to create a lattice pattern.
- Brush the beaten egg over the top of the pie crust strips to give it a golden brown finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 mins, or until the crust is golden brown and the apple mixture is bubbling.
- Let the pie cool for 10-15 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

- Spoon the apple filling into the pie crust and top with the crumb mixture.
