Mmm, y’all gotta try dis Labneh or as we call it, Laban. It’s a delicious Arabic dish and of course, I got the Original recipe, cause y’all know I don’t play when it comes to my food.

Labneh or Laban

Labneh

To make this dish, you’ll need:

  • 5 cups of plain yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Put the yogurt in a cheesecloth and tie it up tightly.
  2. Hang it over a bowl and let it drain in the fridge overnight or up to 24 hours. This will make the yogurt thicker and creamier.
  3. In a bowl, mix the strained yogurt with the salt.
  4. Spread the mixture in a dish and make a well in the center.
  5. Pour the olive oil into the well and sprinkle black pepper on top.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap and let it sit in the fridge for at least 2 hours or up to 24 hours. The longer it sits, the more flavorful it becomes.
  7. When you’re ready to serve, use a spoon to scoop up the Labneh and top it with some of the olive oil and black pepper.
