Today, I’d like to share with you a recipe that’s been in my family for decades – my Grandma’s Pancake Recipe. These pancakes are hands down the best I’ve ever had, and I guarantee they’ll become a staple in your household too.
Without further ado, let’s dive into the recipe:
Grandma’s Pancake Recipe
Start by mixing the following ingredients in a bowl:
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
In a separate bowl, whisk the following:
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
Add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients, and stir until just combined. It’s okay if there are still a few lumps – overmixing will lead to tough pancakes.
Cooking Instructions
Heat a non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, ladle 1/4 cup of batter onto the pan for each pancake. Cook until golden brown on one side, then flip and cook until the other side is also golden brown. Serve hot with your favourite toppings.
