  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 double pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Sanding sugar (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F).
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter. Stir in the flour to form a paste.
  3. Add water, white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg, and bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce temperature and allow mixture to simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Remove the mixture from the heat and stir in the sliced apples and lemon juice.
