  • 6 cups thinly sliced, peeled baking apples (about 2 1/2 pounds)
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Place pie crust in 9-inch pie dish.
  3. In large bowl, toss together apples, brown sugar, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt until apples are evenly coated. Spoon apple mixture into pie crust, making sure it’s evenly distributed.
  4. Cut butter into small pieces and scatter over the top of the apple mixture.
  5. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly.
  6. Allow pie to cool completely before slicing and serving.
